Kai Kai Farms Vow Renwal Inspiration
Pulling up to the sweetest farm and unloading buckets of flowers and branches into a breezy screened in pavilion is not the worst way to spend a Saturday. It is an uncharacteristically cool Florida afternoon, with no sign of storm clouds. For the next couple of hours we are able to design on a seculded farm not too far from home.
Can I describe my perfect day to you? It goes a little something like this: Exiting the highway and entering a long stretch of road flanked on either side by farm land that seems to go on for eternity. Pulling up to the sweetest farm and unloading buckets of flowers and branches into a breezy screened in pavilion. It is an uncharacteristically cool Florida afternoon, with no sign of storm clouds, and music is being excitedly played through various speakers. For the next couple of hours I'm installing branches and vines overhead, putting the final touches on a poppy-filled centerpiece, creating boutonnières with accents of broccoli flower, and filling vintage ceramic bud vases with textural bits such as astilbe and astrantia. The day is topped off with a little photo shoot and a delicious meal is served up as part of an on-going Farm Suppers series. Flowers, open air, a cool Florida afternoon, a gourmet meal, wine, and a full day shared with close friends. Yep, I'd say that perfectly describes a perfect day.

Mollie | Social House Bridal Shower
Let me tell you, Mollie, Brett, and Camille have been nothing but incredible and so when they asked me to provide floral details and vintage rentals for Mollie's upcoming bridal shower I was thrilled! Mollie's shower was hosted at Social House, our home away from home, and it was like two families I love coming together for a holiday, or dare I say - like a wedding.
Our couples and their families' are everything to us. They can make or break our day. Not to sound melodramatic or anything, but this business is incredibly personal and it can be difficult most days to use the word "client" when we would rather use "friend". When we bring on someone as a client we can be a bit apprehensive. We are about to jump into a very personal journey. It is their wedding, it is our day-to-day, and we want to make sure it is a good fit for everyone involved. Mollie and her mom Camille first came to me WAY before I bring on most clients, and I was honest with them about this, but they were adamant. They really wanted to work with me and so I buckled. They were undeniably kind, laid back, and had all the right intentions. They wanted the kind of wedding I wanted, they mentioned my past weddings and how magical they thought each one was, and we clicked immediately. I hope your bridal shower was everything you wished for and more, Mollie! We cannot wait to see you on your wedding day and celebrate your love right alongside you and your family. Also, we may just steal your mom and never return her. Sorry in advance.

Susan + Her Bridesmaids | Bouquet Workshop
The biggest smile spread across my face when I read Susan's inquiry. She was a destination bride looking for a fun way to spend time with her bridesmaids before her wedding day. With a budding passion for floral design and a desire to learn, Susan was looking for someone to teach her wedding party how to make their own bridesmaid bouquets that would be used the following day in her wedding.
I love those unexpected, a bit out-of-the-box inquiries that hit my email inbox every now and then. The biggest smile spread across my face when I read Susan's inquiry. With a budding passion for floral design and a desire to learn, Susan was looking for someone to teach her wedding party how to make their own bridesmaid bouquets that would be used the following day in her wedding.
I LOVED the idea and had the best time teaching a room full of girls about something I love. We talked about each flower I had selected for their bouquets and why they were important players in the finished product. I told them about each flower's personality, how to prepare each stem, and we talked about the seasons.
We dove into construction and each step that goes into a bouquet's design. We talked about mechanics and tools, and finished each one with different widths and shades of ribbon.
I'm so thankful for the creative community that exists in my area, and for the relationships I have with so many different wedding vendors. I wouldn't have met Susan if it wasn't for her wonderful photographer, Oona of Dragonfly Photography, sending her my way. You can see her perspective (which made me laugh right out loud and get a little weepy) over on her blog!
Workshops are such a great way to spend quality time with your friends, form new memories, and learn a new bundle of skills. We love hosting private workshops and we are happy to customize based on a client's needs. Let's create something together!
